How important is sustainable travelling? Are safaris in India planned as per it?

Sustainability is key especially in India because of the huge population we have, anything which is not governed/ regulated properly gets completely misused coz of sheer numbers that we have or lack of education, knowledge or the attitude of many Indian people.

Though the government and forest departments have also started focussing on sustainable tourism, it's been slow but steady.

The Government has realised that tourism is important because it provides livelihood to people living around the forests and also being additional eyes and ears for wildlife protection. The safaris over a period are now well regulated with most forest department limiting the timings and no. of jeeps and people in the forest at any given point of time. The booking are all online and the system is quite transparent. Still I would say there is lot of scope of improvement but the good thing there are government departments who have started valuing your opinion and started making changes in their rules and regulation to accommodate valuable inputs.
